In 1994 he carved his first mantel. He specializes in mantel that tell the family's story. After the interview with family members the design is drawn up and approved the mantel is carved in either basswood, butternut, or black walnut. The size may vary from four feet to nine feet. Other items include Indian faces carved from half logs, Santa's of all sizes.and numerous other small carvings. Although color blind he also paints in oils, specializing in mountain landscapes. |
